Caravan Palace - Black Betty

Such a great Electro Swing Cover by Caravan Palace of the all time classic "Black Betty"!

Boogie Belgique - Volta

"Every Time" is my favorite tune from the new Boogie Belgique Album called "Volta".
The belgian producer is one of the very few out there who manage to combine old swing samples and relaxed downbeats into a melancholic vintage soundscape. If you like Trip Hop with some influences of Swing and Jazz, this one is a must hear! Released 23 September 2016 on Cold Busted.

Grant Lazlo - Shoeshine Boy's Rag EP

Grant Lazlo, former known as Lazlo released a new EP called "Shoeshine Boy's Rag" including this awesome Vintage Club track named "In The End".  Somehow it reminds me on some of the older Moby tracks that used to be sampling old Gospel and Blues vocals and mix them with Electronic beats. Good work on this one Mr. Grant Lazlo!

It is a great pleasure to present you 6 international Remixers from Spain, Serbia, France, UK, USA and Germany that mix the original album tracks in their very own special styles.

The Gentleman Callers of LA give Sound Nomaden's most famous track "The Trumpet" the unique Gentleman's Electro House treat. Based in Los Angeles, the two producers are on the forefront of the US Electro Swing scene. With his orchestral Remix of the track "Madame", Johnny Lectro from Germany manages to transform the original into a powerful Deep House anthem. French producer and founder of electro-swing.com Incontrol chooses "Tear Of Joy" to highlight the vocals and create a great Garage House Remix while Nikola Vujicic based in Serbia is giving the same original track his very powerful and rhythmic Swing House twist. Charlie Beale with his roots in the UK Electro Blues scene recorded some nice guitar lines and retro synth sounds to remix "Madame" in his special vintage style. Last but not least Miret with his background in Barcelona's Global Bass scene is taking "Accordeon Hipsters" on a dubby trip with heavy basslines.

Ghetto Swing Compilation

London based label Green Queen Music is back on the Electro Swing map with a new Compilation and a Remix Competition. The Compilation called Ghetto Swing, out on 2. Sept., features artists from all over the globe mixing heavy hip hop and dubstep beats with old swing and vintage samples. Find Defunk, Dutty Moonshine, Jamko, Bart & Baker, SStrong and also an previously unreleased track by Sound Nomaden, all on one compilation. This is what the label says about it:

"Ghetto Swing is a new compilation with a fresh take on one of the most exciting new genre of our era, Electro Swing. Whilst keeping to the tradition that meets 1940s and 1950s sampling with 21st century style clubbing, Ghetto Swing introduces the grit and grime of hip hop, reggae and dubstep.

Compiled by London based producer and DJ Dr Cat, the album is a groove-laden mix of the vintage samples and underground music.

Expect a disc that is dance floor heavy, you’ll be dancing to big beats donning top hats, and bow ties, flapper dressers and rouge. Classy, but leaving a dance floor with no choice in the matter of getting hot n sweaty, leaving all sense of decorum at the door."

Swing Republic - Midnight Calling

Cheers everybody, I'm back after a little while with some new hot stuff. Summer break is over and the labels are dropping a lot of new releases again, so it's time to spread some of them. Midnight Calling is the follow-up to Swing Republic's well-respected and pioneering debut album Electro Swing Republic. This time around, producer Per Ebdrup is joined by singer and co-writer Karina Kappel for an album of originals. To me it feels like Swing Republic is going more into the pop direction with this album. It reminds me a bit of Caro Emerald because the focus is not anymore on the club but more on the radio. My favourite track is defenitely the "High Hat" with its beautiful trumpet solos, simply great! Have a listen to the Minimix on soundcloud to get a glimpse of what the album sounds like.
